wow what a lineup of people, ok I'm Estax a lowly beta tester of many of todays games (felt like I had to introduce myself since everyone else did lol). What timeline is this game going to use, is it going to be somewhere in the midst of the series or taking off from where it will be (sniff sniff) leaving off? Also will there will be chances to visit Atlantis?

We can't discuss the time line yet, but I can tell you that Atlantis will not be in the initial release. It is, however, likely to be an expansion down the road.

I'm not sure if you can speculate this early but my computer is 5 or 6 years old and I would like to upgrade to get ready for Stargate Worlds. Any idea what the system requirements will be? I'd like an intense stargate experience so I am probably looking at spending a good chunk of change (plus it will be nice to actually be able to do more than one thing at a time on my computer without waiting forever like I do now).

Well from what I understand the available OS's will be XP and Vista for now. They will be looking to getting more available but they are still in pre-production. Other then that its still pre-production and there isn't much available.Once they start the real development.Alot more information will be readily available.

any idea when a beta, or even an alpha, will be up and running? and please keep the screenshots coming. they're beautiful.

I would say a year maybe more.

This is a very good question -- one we simply cannot answer yet. Not because we don't want to, but because we simply do not know what the system requirements will be at this point. Kudos for bringing it up, though.

Thought I'd pop in to say hi. Found out about the game originally through www.mmorpg.com that the game is in development and I must say, my first reaction was dropping my jaw. After that, I had a huge grin on my face the rest of the day. I eagerly anticipate more news and information on the different archetypes, as well as the game itself. It also seems like your trying to make the MMO using combat similar to reality from what I read. Kudos to that, most MMOs now adays copy eachother for the most part. Not to sound too forward, but I love you =D

We can expect the characters from the show to be in the game - as for the part they may play in the storyline, that is taboo right now! The devs are creating their own immersive storyline for the game, but few details have been released. I can assure you that they will be there, however :)

By the end of March, Cheyenne Mountain hopes to have their first playable version of Stargate Worlds.

does this mean u guys are shipping it out to the public at the end of march or its just ready to be tested?

Also i was wondering how the SG teams would work, are actual ppl gonna be able to become SG-1 SG-2.... and so on or will there be a NPC colonel oniell and the crew?

o and also how long will it take to travel planet to planet by ship since ppl wont be able to control the ship itself?

Actually, neither! The game is still in production, it's still pre-alpha. I'll let our amazing Director of IT explain what it is:

Just want to be clear that "First Playable" is far far far from Beta, let alone Alpha. I don't want to go into specifics, but "First Playable" is a development term and refers to a stage in the production of the game at which time we will have a VERY internal environment from which we finally get to realize a lot of ideas.

We can do this long before certain systems are in place that would be needed for an Alpha, like a billing/account system or a facility to house the actual servers etc. Perhaps Scepter can track down a few big wigs around here and help get a unified explanation of what "First Playable" means now that the cat is out of the bag. But I'll leave that to Scepter (i.e. don't hold me accountable for making him do that!)

That being said, it's a very exciting time for the team and the energy around here is absolutely electric... along with the pressure. It's a big goal for everyone!

Don't worry, the game will be ready eventually!! The current thinking is the first half of next year, with a beta at the end of this year/start of next year.

Because this is an MMO with thousands of people per server, you won't be able to play SG1. Imagine 500 Daniels running around - Not good! You'll be creating your own, unique, character to play. There will be the famous characters from the show lurking around as NPCs as well.

I don't know if this has been finalised yet and I don't want to take a guess! Watch this space :D

NP, just making fun. its no big deal, But we get alot of gold sellers who do that they post multiple times and then in the middle of those posts on a different section they will be posting their ad so we are kind of curious when someone post like that.

Yea, dont fret, one thing youll notice is I like to mess around with people, though I mean to harm by it. Stotan might be the same way, but i'm not sure at the moment. If you go to the off topic forum for warcry, everyone messes with eachother for the most part.

What i was meaning to say was when we create are unique character is there going to be a Sg team system were Tauri of Earth will become Sg-1 to like Sg-100 or something not become Daniel or Teal'c, but i think it is obvious thats not the case. but maybe its an idea??? u could like make it a job position and get them to pay naq or something???

Hmm I hope that wasn't your last question because of us we just like to kid around. anywho The teams are going to be guild. I don't think you can just become a SG-1 they are going to limit it. The day the game comes out. I'm imaging that you will meet random sg teams but you wont be a sg team. think of it as a out sourcing expeditions.

That is no problem we would like to ask that you make new threads for questions. Just if its a secondary uestion on the first don't start a new one for that. Example say you ask about PVP Scepter answers with somthing that gives you another question we would like you to continue that line of questioning in that topic.
